Shipment has officially started, of foundation stones quarried at Xibaipo, a revered revolutionary site, to be used for the classroom building of the Shaoshan Primary School. These stones will be first sent to the Shuangqing Villa in the Fragrant Hills and Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall in Beijing, and then permanently placed in Shaoshan.

On September 9, over 200 pupils from Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Zhangjiakou and Handan, along with some old comrades who once worked and lived at Xibaipo, held a solemn ceremony to launch the shipment in front of the Xibaipo Monument. It was said that this activity originated in a national joint effort initiated by the “Heroic Squadron” of the Young Pioneers - all the members of the Young Pioneers in the country saved RMB “fen” coins to aid the construction of the classroom building of the Shaoshan Primary School in Mao Tse-tung's hometown, to commemorate Mao's 110th birthday.
